Ambulances in Sweden experience GPS tampering

GPS interference in war zones is a well-known issue, particularly within the aviation and maritime transportation sectors. The Baltic states experience daily disruptions in satellite navigation systems. However, another critical area is now being affected: emergency response systems, including ambulances, which rely heavily on accurate geolocation to operate effectively. According to the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), the number of GPS interference incidents affecting ambulance geolocation in Sweden has surged dramatically, from 55 cases in 2023 to 733 reported incidents in 2025 as of today.
