Upgrades
If after doing regular maintenance, introducing redundancy and increasing security, your system is still not able to provide sufficiently reliable and precise PNT information, you could consider upgrading your hardware, using advanced components (anti-jamming antenna) or complementing your GNSS information with other sensors (sensor-fusion).
To aid you in this decision, we invite you to take another look at the resiliency questionnaire (link to the resiliency questionnaire), and review which questions you answered with no (and therefore which areas of your system can improve the most).
We recognize of course that no system is perfect, so we suggest beginning with the weakest links and working your way up, remembering that there is always a balance between cost and benefit.
Some actions before upgrading:
- Review resiliency questionnaire answers
- Identify weakest areas
- Determine criticality of PNT in your application
- Determine whether your system is resilient enough for your criticality level
- Implement previous suggestions (maintenance, redundancy, security), then decide on upgrades
