This portal developed by a combined effort of the following organizations:<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a>In the Netherlands, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (IenW) is responsible for the vital process PNT by means of GNSS.<\/p>\n\n

\"\"<\/a>The Netherlands Space Office (NSO) is the space agency of the Dutch government. NSO’s task is to advise and implement the national space policy.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The European Space Agency (ESA) is Europe\u2019s gateway to space. Its mission is to shape the development of Europe\u2019s space capability and ensure that investment in space continues to deliver benefits to the citizens of Europe and the world.<\/p>\n\n

GNSS is common used because it is widely available, can be used for free and is considered reliable. Due to the variety of applications that are dependent on it, position, navigation and timing (PNT) via GNSS has been identified as a vital process in the Netherlands. This usage also has a downside. Due to the increased dependency, disruption and\/or deception of these signals is becoming more and more common and can have disruptive consequences for society. The National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV) has identified location and time determination by means of GNSS as a category B vital process in the Netherlands. This means that disruption of the process can lead to serious social disruptions and poses a threat to national security.<\/p>\n\n

Because disruption of GNSS can have serious consequences, it is important to know what the vulnerabilities of positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) by means of GNSS are. Then it can be considered which vulnerabilities need to be mitigated and which risks are acceptable.<\/p>\n\n

The recent Vulnerability Assessment on failure of Satellite Navigation (IKUS)2 has shown that the level of knowledge and awareness about use, dependency and vulnerabilities associated with outages is low.
